Alicia Shumpert graduated from Alabama A&M University with a B.S in elementary in education, soon after she enrolled in Aurora University to obtain a masters in social work. Longing to continue down the path of education she transferred to Cedarville University and received her M.ed in educational leadership in 2016.

 

Alicia always possessed a strong passion to educate a younger generation. She began her journey as an educator during her sophomore year in high school as an after school teacher for elementary age children. Continuing to fuel her passion, she continued as a tutor throughout college, preschool teacher, educational advisor and continued as a kindergarten teacher for three years.

 

Interested in pursing entrepreneurial avenues in education, Alicia founded the Smart Club. The Smart Club began as a mail based program and eventually became event based with many excited participants. Through the continual advancement of the Smart Club, Alicia opened a physical location to house all the exciting components of the Smart Club, the Smart Clubhouse opened in the fall of 2017.
